All the best for your talk Mark. I'd like to be there but it's a bit far from Australia! lol

I have just finished your book, Making Senses Out of Scripture, it was great - a perfect companion for Scott Hahn's book 'A Father Who Keeps His Promises'.

Your summary says it all:

And that, in the end,is the point of our search for the different senses of Scripture: not to multiply more and ever more clever footnotes on a biblical passage, not to fadge up fantasies alien to the text. Rather, it is to learn to see the reality of Christ burning with hidden fire in the heart of His Scripture just as the Spirit of God burned with hidden fire in the heart of the God-Man Christ Jesus. It is to let that fire be kindled in our own souls and, in the light of it, to see the souls of others and set them aflame as well...the point of Scripture is not, ultimately to make us biblical scholars...It is to make us saints.

I'm not all that far, but three hours is still a bit much. I lived in Auburn back in my Protestant youth, though, and I have friends who will probably be there tonight. Wish I could be.
