Looks like Blue Man Group has some competition.

Has Matthew finished the book I lent him? Have you had a crack at it yet?

Matthew finished it. I'm in the middle of it. Very good!

You always find the neatest videos (even if your son gives you some of them).

Fr. Shane:

Not only did I finish it, I now have my own copy of it expressly for loaning out purposes. Well chosen, sir!

And Luke got me a copy of "The Ladies of Grace Adieu" which is a collection of other short stories of Faerie by Susanna Clarke, some of them having to do with Strange and Norell. In other words, I heartily approve, and thank you! Hahaha!

Is that Sarah Alexander in the video?

It's not. Never mind.

Cow:
a doff of the biretta to you, sir, for your superb taste in books. There is a new book out but being the cheap bibliojunkie I am, we are waiting for the paperback.

Cow:
Possible to rangle a papal action figure as a sign of your gratitude?

OK, I must ask this now: What book did Fr. Tharp lent Matthew AKA 'Cow'? What is it about?

Sorry for asking, but I am curious, and always looking for something good to read...

Veronica:
It was out for a good bit of time, Mr. Norell and Dr. Strange. Think Victorian Magic Novel. Awesome! Pure Fried Gold!

Think last - end - omega.

Alpha and Omega ring a bell?

Thank you very much for the book reccommendation, Fr. Tharp. I checked it out at Amazon and it looks very interesting, I'll be sure to order it very soon...

And did everybody hear the news already? Harry Potter and the Deathly Gallows will be on sale on July 21, woo-hoo!!

I have not yet read Mr. Norell and Dr. Strange, but people who like it might also like Sorcery and Cecelia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot : Being the Correspondence of Two Young Ladies of Quality Regarding Various Magical Scandals in London and the Country. First published as a fantasy in 1987 and reissued as a Young Adult book in 2002, Sorcery and Cecelia started as a game between Patricia C. Wrede (who pronounces her name with two syllables as if it were spelled Reedy and who is a Catholic) and Caroline Stevermer in which they wrote letters to each other in the personas of two young ladies, cousins, in an 1817 England in which magic works. One of them had gone to London for her season while the other remained at home. The sequel is The Grand Tour or The Purloined Coronation Regalia being a revelation of matters of High Confidentiality and Greatest Importance, including extracts from the intimate diary of a Noblewoman and the sworn testimony of a Lady of Quality. The two Young Ladies of Quality become engaged at the end of the first book. In the second they marry and they and their husbands, who are old friends, go on a Grand Tour of Europe as their marriage journey. In both books magical villainy is thwarted.

I think having a son nicknamed Cow is wicked cool in and of itself. And I speak as a man of many, many nicknames.
