These Evangelicals have a problem not only with Revelation when it comes to evaluating the situation in the Middle East, they can't even get the facts straight on the present state of affairs on the ground. The charge that Iran is a nuclear theat, or has made a nuclear threat against Israel is nonsense. It is the other way around! For some facts on what Iran has actually said: http://www.juancole.com/2008/03/...on-now- ruz.html

I don’t know. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad doesn’t seem to be an angel And not wanting nuclear weapons? It’s hard to say. Neither side has won much confidence in my opinion. But if Ahmadinejad was selling me a used car and ensured me that there was no leak in the oil filter, I would still look underneath. In any event, it is the religion of peace, so no need to worry.

Some of Colson's stats appear credible, esp. the conversion numbers in France and Algeria and Iraq. They are not so outlandish. I remember reading a couple years ago that the Catholic Church in France has several thousand Muslim converts per year. Similar but quieter figures for turkish Muslims in germany are also plausible. The six million number for Africa or worldwide is likely greatly inflated, common sense would indicate that. i feel that way about the huge inflated conversion numbers in China too.

Do try to see the Iranian perspective.

The US will launch a campaign of militarily imposed regime change on a foreign government for trumped up reasons, just bcause they disgree with the regime. The only defence against such an invasion is posession of nuclear weapons.

Unless you can think of any other reason for a leader a evil as Kim Jong Il to still be left in power.

But Kim lacks the ability to do anyhing against us, so that doesn't seem to be the reason we haven't invaded.
