Mr. Shea,

I assume you don't know much about the College Humor site. Not your fault, but be careful. I do't know if it's better described as an hilarious site with some porny bits, or a porny site with some hilarious bits. Viewer discretion is advised.

I'm not recommending the whole site. I just thought this was funny. I assume my readers are grown-ups and can navigate the web for themselves..

Cute. However, I noticed that they dissed Eharmony for not setting up same-sex 'couples'.

Amazing video, and the parody was spot-on. Whoever created this was pure genious.

I think your answer to me was snarky. I expected that and tried to defuse it with my "not your fault." Not enough to assuage your fragile ego, huh? I see you deleted the links to checking out the whole site. Good move. I guess you're helping your grownup readers navigate the web for themselves.

A simple "Wow man, thanks for the heads-up. Post altered." would have been sufficient.

You're welcome for the help in disassociating your blog from a porn site. Anytime, pal.

Christopher:

I wasn't trying to be snarky. Just make clear that I'm not recommending the site. I got rid of the link because I meant what I said. Lighten up, dude.

Cool. Consider moi lightened.

I find the comments fascinating themselves. I thought the video a striking - well, icon isn't the word, but ... almost a cartoon of what seems to me the growing virtuality of romantic relationships.

But some of the comments almost seem to take that virtuality for granted - and are talking about the morality of the presentation (or of other stuff on the site - I haven't looked at anything on the site so don't actually know).

But is it perhaps only my advanced age (you wouldn't believe me if I told you) that makes me a bit surprised at the universality implied of the web as a way of socialisation? Do people even see other real people today?

Perception is reality: "I can't wait to read about me on your blog."

hilarious!

Brilliant and witty. Thanks, Mark.

Yeah, CH is really hit-or-miss sometimes, and this is definitely right on.

And you can do a whole lot worse than CH if people are seriously upset.
