Great piece!

Can anyone explain to me just what the hell (heh) is so dangerous about a Ouji board? I remember seeing these in toy store game departments (you can probably still buy them there) and no pre-teen sleepover was complete without dragging one out (right after the seance!) when I was a kid.

I have always felt that I am supposed to be wary of Ouji boards, but they never struck me as being much different from other harmless Halloween "spooky" stuff.

I'd really like to know. Is one actually close to opening oneself to the occult by playing with a Ouji board (and no, my kids don't have one

One thing that we are most strictly warned against is divination (see CCC 2116).

The Ouji board is meant to be a form of divination (through the form of mediumism) and thus prudence and respect for the wisdom of the Church would dictate being wary of it.
