See, that's where you're wrong...at least in part. It is all about being white, powerful, educated, and liberal in the ECUSA. BUT part of being white, powerful, educated, and liberal in the ECUSA is being very aware of one's whiteness, power, ad. nau. and being somewhat ashamed of it all. This is part of what drives the ECUSA into the arms of the Cultural Suicides of the Religious Left. The leftist agenda gives them permission to stay where they are racially, financially, ad. nau. and at the same time provides them the acceptability of looking very enlightened. I'm talking about the governing elite of the Church here, of course.

As a former ECUSAN myself, I must thank you Father Philip for making the distinction between the "governing elite" and the rest of the ECUSANS... Many of these are fine Christian people - some of the best around. They're just on a sinking ship. Why don't we all pray for those people's spiritual safety, rather than gloating? Eh?
Let's not be cocky. I believe there are more former Catholics than there are members of the next largest Christian denom. after the R.C. Church. This is actually very sad. I have recently "lost" a whole family of friends to the TEC. How much of this apostasy can be attributed to poor witnessing on the part of we the laity and our priests and parish lay apparatchiks?
