There is totally nothing wrong with wearing socks with sandals and they that claim so are rightly considered fashion Nazis.

The only ones allowed to wear socks with sandals are Franciscan friars. Mainly because sandals are the only shoes they wear (especially if they're CFR's) and they need to keep their feet warm in the winter. So when it comes to socks and sandals men, remember: if it's not a part of your habit, don't make it a habit.
