Just occurred to me that Obama and McCain should name each other as their running mates. The longer I think about this, the more sense it makes.

I used to think all of the jokes about Bush being the "Worst. President. Ever," were hyperbole. Now... I wouldn't say he's the worst but definitely in the bottom five.

I like to think that Bush is simply the second part of the Bush/Clinton era. Bush simply took everything that was being established in the 90s, and took it,along with congress and the general feeling of the times, to its next levels.

Yeah, the "economic stimulus" package had to be one of the worst ideas ever devised. I'm not sure that the good old US of A will live to see her 300th birthday.

It seems that the writing is on the wall and we keep borrowing from the future to extend the good times just a bit longer.

Yes, we'll see a 300th birthday. But we just won't look anything at all like we did when we celebrated the 200th.

Mr. Shea,

In case you didn't know, Bill Clinton worked night and day to make abortion on demand the law of the land, unlike George Bush.

How is that worse than what Bush did?

I should also comment that the latter is precisely what Presidents, both Republican and Democrat, have been doing for at least the last 18 to 20 years.

I remember hearing a radio show on NPR about the leaving of IOUs in the Social Security "trust fund" (the only trust fund guaranteed to lose money!) to lower the deficit. Clinton had paid down deficits at least as big as this during his administration, and even his "surpluses" were illusory.

The only reason this crap is in place is because the majority of people in the USA are letting it happen. They don't vote, yet they raise hell when things "outrage" them. It's all sanctimonius BS. The media and the governmentals (GOP, Dems, lobbiests) are pulling the strings on a puppet citizenry, giving out bread (Soc. Sec., Medi"scare", etc.) and circuses (American Idol, Entertainment Tonight, etc.) and everyone just guzzles it down like Kommie Kool-Aid.

No one wants freedom. The government is everything! They keep sucking away your freedom and you keep applauding them....and they take more and you thank them....you complain you can't buy gas because it's too damn expensive, and no one wants to solve the problem (drill, drill, drill). USA is going the way of the do-do and everyone is putting the revolver into their mouths and getting ready to pull the trigger..

If people REALLY want to save the USA, then get out and re-elect no one in the congress, even if it's against the party you're affiliated with...THAT's CHANGE you can believe in.

God help us all!!

Rant over...sorry for it's longevity..

I just posted a perfectly good rant and now it's in HaloScan hell.....

Oh well...the point is that the USA is spiralling towards Third World status and no one wants to do anything about it, i.e. vote the jerks in power out of office.

Time to start reading the Declaration of Independence and learning from the colonists, who were no where close to being abused by the King of England as we are by this oppressive quasi-socialist government.......

To say Bush is the "worst president ever" is simplistic nonsense. What about the lies about Viet Nam and our involvement that were told by every president from Truman to Nixon?

You either have a short memory or you are ignorant of history. Whatever has been done over the last 7 years pales in comparison to the atrocities of Viet Nam.

History will judge this administration and I don't think it will be as condemning a judgement as you seem to think.

You are doing an injustice to Woodrow Wilson, who worked so very hard for the title!

And then we should not forget Harry "Genocide" Truman, Franklin "Concentration Camp" Roosevelt, and then there was Richard "Crypto-Marxist Crook" Nixon... of course I will not mention Ron "Triple the Size of the Federal Government in the Name of Small Government, while playing a shell game to pretend to lower taxes" Reagan.

In short, it is a pretty crappy job that attracts fittingly crappy sorts.

If people REALLY want to save the USA, then get out and re-elect no one in the congress, even if it's against the party you're affiliated with...THAT's CHANGE you can believe in.

The problem, of course, is that the candidates with any chance of winning are from one crappy party or the other crappy party. So even voting the current crop of crooks out just means you get a new crop of crooks in.

A sad commentary in itself, isn't it c matt?

what utter nonsense.
