In case anybody reading the combox is tempted to bypass Mark's clericalism piece mentioned in the last paragraph, DON'T. Take two minutes and read it. I swear, it explains an awful lot of the dysfunciton in an awful lot of parishes these days, AND why we Catholics have so utterly failed in so many aspects of public life to ensure that basic human dignity is upheld.
