Interesting. It used to be the Irish who would bring their Catholic faith whereever they went and give the local church a boost. Now it is the Polish Catholics that are helping out the Irish church. It seems the people with the hard life at home become refugees and go where there is prosperity. It is a good bet that where you find wealth you will also find a struggling church. |

As a non-Pole who has lived in Poland, I am glad that Poles in the diaspora are moving beyond the confines of Polish parishes. Unlike former Soviet Russians, they do learn English quickly and unfortunately Polish parishes do seem more geared to mere "Polish stuff". |
