"But the notion that this is an environmental hazard is preposterous."

yeah, for a real environmental perspective you folks in Seattle will see a true environmental hazard when Mt. Rainer blows it top.

Yeah, cuz Seattleites are, like, totally not interested in green issues.

I love Sleepless in Seattle! It's best appreciated with a gallon or two of ice cream

Chick flick!

I get choked up at the Dirty Dozen.

Kelly's Heroes makes me misty-eyed.

LOL, is this weird or what? I had never heard of Gasworks Park until the other day, when my 16-year-old son, who is (for some unaccountable reason) a fan of a fairly talentless, didactic, heavy-handed Seattle protest singer named Jim Page, asked me to download a song called, er, "Gasworks Park" from ITunes.

It's always the way. You've never heard of something; then you hear of it, and it starts popping up everywhere. Go figure.

BTW, I've only been out west once in my life. Which explains a lot. No, I'm not a candidate for Battle of the Jaywalk All-Stars, thank you very much. :p

hahaha! yeah, i wish i had the kind of fuel efficient and speedy transportation that tom hanks had in that movie.

At least Hanks got where he was going. In "Flashdance" Jennifer Beals is shown riding the incline (a sort-of-uphill-only cable car ) to the top of Mt. Washington . In the very next scene she is on Carson Street- which is at the bottom of Mt. Washington.
Then there's the scene in "Lorenzo's Oil" where the characters leave a 'conference room ' which is really a classroom at CMU - and come out into a hallway which is actually in a different building on the other side of campus....
