That one knocked me right out of a good mood. Which is fine. I know that's going to happen when I turn my computer on, but that is one sad state of affairs, JP.
Justice doesn't look like it's gonna make it across the finish line on this one.

Sorry, SA. But are we entitled to good moods consiering what's being done in our good name, with our tax dollars, knowing that such crimes are being committed with virtual impunity (especially at the non-com level)?
Somehow, holding such a high regard for our states of well being kind of pales in comparison with the necessity of getting the truth out.
I was pissed when I wrote this article and now I'm even twice as pissed since watching 60 Minutes and the story they did about the massacre at Haditha in 2005.

Agree, JP. Voice inflection would have aided my comment.
This is a dark day today, mob. 4 years of this and no end in sight.

Interesting, on my blog we talked about Petraeus connection to the suicide at least a week ago, but JP decides to use this as a way to make it look like I'm not patriotic along with Joe & John of Ablog!
You have some nerve JP to do that considering my cousin Scott was in Iraq for two years in the Green Zone where it's unsafe. To say that protesting is a waste of time or whatever it is that is in your brain is wrong. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO DIDN'T GET OFF YOUR ASS TO PROTEST. At least we made the effort. Blogging from a chair shouldn't be the only thing we do in these crazy times. You're choosing that though. Who's the lazy Patriot one again?

i know raging at the apparent futility of it all overtakes me sometimes, but we all have to do what we have to do. Protesters do get noticed and they serve to remind the American public that there is major discontent in our nation. You won't see that on the news as they report about a distraught Paris or a dead hooker like Anna Nicole. The protests also remind a world that is growing to hate America more and more that THERE ARE decent Americans living in this country who are fighting against the murderers who happen to populate the top of the food chain in our government at this moment.
Denigrating the protestors for not doing enough in your opinion doesn't help. Lead by example, JP. Let others follow in your wake.

found this in a Salon Berkeley Breathed Interview today.. I think it describes bloggers too..
Q: Years ago, you declared that George W. Bush had "cut off our satirist balls" by being unwilling to take himself seriously, but "Opus" features some of the most vehement political satire you've ever written. What do you think is the job of a satirist at a political moment like this one?
BB: Cartoonists -- any satirists -- are mere blowhards at the fringes of the mob, screaming at the crowd to throw the gasoline bombs at the storm troopers. Nobody pays attention to us, really, but we look amusing with our veins popping out. I think it builds confidence for the stragglers in the back.
