Thanks Poetryman. I must admit, I worked my ass off for hours putting this one together, and I am quite proud of the result. The excellent posts that Jurassic Pork and Station Agent have been producing regularly lately here at Les Enragés.org have been setting a very high standard indeed. Not to mention the excellent material of RevPhat and Jump to the Left, which we could use a little more of (broad hint).

I think the unruly mob is really coming of age, developing a strong and distinctive voice from many different points of view. I think our little site adequately demonstrates depth and breadth of opposition to 'this regime' - which is all I could have ever hoped for, and more than I dared expect.

If the Hicks story isn't a travesty well and truly exposed, what is? Don't miss this Amy Goodman editorial at TruthDig, also very good - and drill down into some of my links for even more enraging information on this case. Like Maher Arar and Jose Padilla, this is one that just makes the blood boil.

And lest we forget: there are still nearly 400 inmates at Gitmo. Only four have been formally charged with any offense. Dozens were originally brought in as children, and like Hicks have spent over FIVE YEARS in a limbo of illegal detention. This is an affront not only to American justice, but to the entire tradition of western law going back almost 800 years.
