Gravatar They are "not" on the road to salvation?? I was reading there and that part took me off-guard. I suppose I'd have to know what the author means by "salvation."

It makes me wonder whether the person who simply does things they know of as right and good, living normal life with God and Church integrated into it, is more "on the road to salvation" than a person who takes much time to investigate how well others are walking "the road."

I may be off the intended base on that - it just came to my mind. Otherwise, I think I see the point of it not being desirable for people not to think about their whole lives being worship instead of just that liturgical bit in the building.

Peace to you and Happy New Year Christ.

Gravatar Yeah - I sort of blanched at that bit too actually. I left it in as part of the whole, so to speak.
I just like the idea of having an integrated self, notmatter whether in church or home or work or whatever.
I suppose this is very much of its time!

Gravatar I went and skimmed the original deal a bit and see more what he's talking about now. Integrated personality - definitely. I see a lot of talk like that in Merton, not exactly the same, but similar. My own thinking about that kind of thing leans toward the union we have within ourselves (body, soul, and spirit) as a result of being in union with God - when He transforms us, He is re-unifying our "insides" - making us like Jesus, who was ultimately One within Himself.
