Uhm, can we say, "breach of contract" by Matthews and Russert?
Seems like they should be sent hiking, and NBC should be eating humble pie.
And, the rest of us should be changing phone service from Verizon to Vonage.

Yet another NBC "Anchor:"
Katie Couric

And two more:
Brian Williams and Jane Pauley
Since the NBC Policy is against speaking to "Interest Groups," just because someone is listed with this speaking bureau doesn't necessarily mean they are violating NBCs ethics policies. So I think Matthews is in a whole 'nother category than Russert, Williams, Couric, and Pauley. (At lest until someone finds info that one of these others has been accepting fees to speak to interest groups obviously.)

I wonder if Matthews and Russert ever appear together? Hard to imagine those giant heads fitting into the same room. Keith O. appeared on The Colbert Report last night and Colbert mentioned something to him about the gravitational pull of Matthews' head.

Brian Williams is on the same website. Do a search for journalists -- it's eye-opening. Bill O'Lielly gets more than Woodward. Oh, you know that must bug Wob Boodward.

More on this fascinating web site. Tweety looks like a big, blood-filled tick in his promo picture. And Andrea Mitchell looks like my Aunt Jean did in the 70s.
Man, we could do a great parody of this crap.

Russert, Williams, Couric, and Pauley were apparently listed on the same menu as Matthews, buns up kneeling, available for hot one-on-group action.
We already know what they are, we're just quibbling over the price.

"Follow the money...."
Where did those fees go, Mr. Kaplan? Were they deposited into Matthews' own bank account?
There's no question of whether or not Matthews received payment; the lobbying organizations have clearly stated they paid Matthews for speaking. Kaplan has now lied to cover it up.
One would think Kaplan might want to be more fully aware of where the money went, since the story may well have legs that NBC personalities are violating media ethics in general and NBC policies in particular.
Sticking his head in the sand so he can pretend ignorance is risky for Kaplan, since this story could cause a huge embarrassent to NBC if it exploded onto other news venues.

This kind of money makes a complete mockery of journalistic integrity, corporate governance rules and any rules of professional conduct. Matthews has made himself the journalistic equivalent of the trophy wife. It has become obvious, now, where the rightfward drift of Chris Matthews over the last few years has come from. Another former Democrat licking Republican boots.

Surprise! Another bought and paid for shill for the right. Another sign we are on our way to a dictatorship is when the govt owns and operates the media and this govt has bought and paid good money to get losers like Matthews to shovel the horse manure for them. This complete media/govt control of what message Americans heard and were told to think post 9-11, even when it went against all common sense, is exactly how they brainwashed Americans in Naziesk fashion to follow the govt blindly for years. To those of you who think picking on Matthews is a waste of time, it isn't. It is one of the most important things that needs to be done right now. The media and it's relationship to the government has to be exposed. People need to realize they weren't only fed bullshit like they realize now, but they conditioned to believe what was obvious bullshit at the time. The whole mess of this Presidency could have been avoided if Americans understood the brainwashing tactics used on them.

Rush & Tweety, sitting in a tree:
RUSH: A montage here of Chris Matthews from his show last night talking about -- and he is my friend. Chris Matthews is a friend of mine. I mean, I know him. I've been on his show a couple times. I haven't been invited lately probably because he knows I don't do television. Well, much. But he's... I don't know. I get worried sometimes about my friends going over the deep end here. I sense a lot of people in the media are going over the deep end here ever since Bush's press conference on, what was it, Monday? Boy, this week has just flown by. It was Tuesday. Whatever it was, Bush basically said, "Hey, you guys, I'm not criticizing you, but, yeah, you are helping the enemy with their own propaganda, with the stuff you're putting on the air."

Now listen to this Chris Matthews. He is an absolute rat. Chris Matthews has done everything he can to destroy America. Why is he now saying all this stuff on this audio clip? He is a rat and can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Why is everyone here so worried about how some other guy spends his time or money? Do you people really think it's any of your business what other people do with their time and money? . . . because if it is, then it's a bunch of other guys' business what you do with your time and money. Do you really want gov't gunmen in the form of fair political practices officials down to local code enforcement agents to be kicking in your doors and threatening you in true Kafkaesque fashion? Because if you do, just keep trying to use the government to hurt your enemies and most surely the government will hurt you ever more so at some future moment not or your choosing.
I feel Matthews is a lackey of the p.c. weakling liberals whose gutlessness has killed thousands of Iraqis and many of our soldiers in Iraq. I think each of you should remember an Iraqi name and adopt that person as one who you personally have helped kill, just using al Qaida's gunmen to do your job for you. This, because you have encouraged Saddam's friends who'd already murdered about one in thirty Iraqis before we ever set foot over there. You don't care how many Iraqis die, just so you can express your weak and shallow hatred for Geoge Bush.
I used to be a strong leftist but I've seen too much. You are the do-gooder, useful idiots who thoughtlessly get other people killed from the safety of your desk-jockying positions, yet somehow think you are the victim. You get to gripe about Matthews, they get to die.
Matthews is weak, but you are weaker. As I hear evermore whinning, I understand evermore clearly why the Islamofacists are laughing at the United States; it's because of you guys.

You have got to be kidding with this? Isn't there something more important you can get your feathers in an uproar about.
I could give a rat's A what he thinks of Michael Moore. What I see as far as cable news shows is the fairest and hardest hitting of them all. Who on earth do you watch that you think is giving you better info? O'Reilly, Hannity? Or do you just get your info from the internet?
You give real liberals a bad name.
