Gravatar I have been waiting for someone to write something like this.

Gravatar what is the murder rate in Johannesburg these days ?
It's always easier to solve other's problems than your own isn't it ?

Gravatar Mike, if everyone only worked on their own problems, the world would be a poor place, indeed.

Gravatar I heard today that Ireland is proposing that the Euro-Medditteranean agreement (whereby Israel is granted favourable trading status with the EU)be reviewed. I doubt Ireland is anywhere near powerful enough to change anything - esp. with the Bliar around - but it's something, I suppose.

Gravatar Even a small step by Ireland, at a time like this, helps. It is certainly more than what any of the cowardly Arab regimes has done so far.

The Irish know what it means to be oppressed; thank you Irish!

Gravatar "...we reserve the right not to eat Jaffa oranges as long as they taste foul and are poisonous. It was endurable to live some years without the blue grapes of apartheid."

~ Jostein Gaarder, author of world bestseller Sophie's World, in his fresh essay 'God's chosen people'.

Gravatar Ireland also refused the US permission to use Irish airports to refuel jets carrying weapons to Israel. Never mind, though, the Bliar was more than willing to provide British facilities.

Still, it doesn't do to idealise Irish policy towards the ME: the government was happy to allow the US the use of Irish airports to transport men and weapons to Iraq.
