Thanks for that link Molly.

The Arabs were quiet about Iraq for so long until 2003, and this year they're pissed. Why is that?

giovanni, tens of thousands of Shia were murdered by Saddam's regime in 1991 alone. What's the death toll of Palestinians been in Iraq since 2003? I have a hundred bucks that says that more Shia than Palestinians have been murdered just in the last week.

It is indeed horrible what the death squads have done to innocent Sunna, but it won't stop me from telling the truth about what Saddam and his filthy henchmen did to Iraqis for 25 years, and what the 'resistance' continued to do to Iraqis after 2003.

Thank you again CS for the great post.

I just posted this over at AA, and I think it's pretty good

I heard Rubayie say last night that he hoped for reconciliation. We Shia really do want reconciliation with the Sunna. We want the Sunna to participate in the government. We know there are many good Sunna who are great leaders. Faysal (father and son) were very popular leaders in Iraq, and they were Sunni. The Sunna will share the oil wealth - the parliament talked about it and agreed on a plan to share the oil. It is time for true reconciliation. We are all Arabs, after all. I don't know a single Shii Arab who does not support an independent, viable, contigous and strong Palestine.

'He only said that Palestinians are innocent in Iraq and shouldn't suffer because of what Saddam do to the Shia.'

And I agree with him. I've spoken out against the militias that murder Palestinians. I've been an advocate of Palestine since I was in college.

'I have to speak out against what you guys are doing in Iraq to the Palestinians.'

What do you mean by 'you guys'? As if I condone what's happening to the Palestinians in Iraq. Actually it's your country that's supporting those militias, so 'your guys' are part of the problem there, Massoud. Don't put all Iraqi Shia in the same boat like so many morons do, please.

Gravatar Shii, I am against capital punishment for the reason you noted but it also might have something to do with the fact that I was raised Catholic and it was something that I had pounded into my head everyday when I went to school.

Gravatar I'd like to take the time right now to comment to a bunch of posts on this thread but I'm tired and I think I am going to take a nap now.

Peace.

Gravatar 'do you two agree with what is happening. condemn it as strongly as you condemn what happened in the past and then perhaps you two might appear to be less sectarian and less selective in your outrage over saddam.'

what a fucking stupid thing to say.

Gravatar Only Idiots think that Democracy can exist within the context of a military occupation. What we have in Iraq now is a farce , the current government have less leverage in Iraq than any Private in the Marines.
If this is democracy , I would much rather live in an orwellean world.

Gravatar Beautiful post CS.

Gravatar Zarathustra, you already do.

Gravatar Maha,

Not true; I can tell you that Molly cares deeply about the Palestinians.

It is when it comes to Iraq that we have some differences.

Gravatar Maha, have you read any of Molly's posts?
