There was a great piece on Sixty Minutes last night about Iraqis who threw their lot behind the invasion. Now they are being targeted and the U.S. has abandoned them. These Iraqis, who were largely used as translators, may number 100,000. Only 100 or so have ben given asylum in the U.S. because of supposed security risks. Will al-Maliki get asylum? If he's smart he'll go to Europe and try to begin a new life. But most will not have the options of a high government official. It's a moral tragedy the way we have used these people and then discarded them afterward. Impeach Bush and Cheney.

most those iraqis who are called in arabic those who came with the tanks , have homes in London genva and Dubai , they know their time is up , even the green zone is not safe enough . the parliament is half empty. ALLawi is actually being helped to come back . who knows , he is trying to convince the kurds to stand by him and therefore become a larger party , as Al Maliki has been abandonned by the Dawa party that supported him. I cant wait to see them dumped like Kleenex like Ahmed Chalabi too .
