Is this an account of Islam that any educated Muslim would accept as substantially accurate? Have you tried running it past a Muslim and getting his or her reaction to it?

Thanks for the insight. I had been operating under the mistaken belief that the reason was that they have a collective lump of camel feces for brains.
Above commenter: Have you ever encountered an "educated muslim"? Is that an impossibility like "military justice"?

This certainly squares with something I read earlier about the Moslem concept of God as pure Will as against our concept of God, in Christ, as Logos.

I'm sure (or at least hopeful) that T. Shaw is just being hyperbolic, but it bears saying that there are and have been through the ages many thoughtful, intelligent, and educated Muslims. Education, however, always comes from a certain perspecitve, a certain frame of reference. The philisophical errors in Islamic logic are, unfortunately, part of the fundamental building blocks on which the culture is built. (I'm looking at that analogy and wincing...I know you don't build ON building blocks, but you get my point.)

To a degree, Muslims betray their own heritage when receiving a western education. Some of them "compartmentalize" it in order to keep the ideas from colliding and inflicting them with internal dissonance.
And, of course, many of them simply can't put their finger on what the problem is any more than many westerners know why they know the things they know.

The read was an interesting one, but it must be pointed out that Muslims do not worship the one true God by the very fact that they do not recognize Jesus as God and therefore as a distinct person of the Trinity; Muslims worship the demon misleading them.

Muslims today are not Mohommed himself, and should not be conflated.
A person born in a Muslim country has a choice to submit to its invidious illogic, or to live a life of privation and ongoing socially-accepted abuse.
Is it any wonder that the rise of Islamic thought, in its two major schools, and of Sharia law, was the next step? Just as Judaism starts with the Torah (pentateuch), and then adds centuries of Rabbinical tradition (the Talmud), even so the Muslim world has added their legal systems, and centuries of tradition on top of the basic tenets of Islam.
I think that your thesis is inadquately developed, but certainly a promising field for study. However, if your views ever escape obscurity, it will be bad for you. You remember what happened to Salman Rushdie, don't you? Islamic inter-faith dialog usually involves a very sharp knife put to your throat, or a bomb in your car, or the torture and killing of innocents. Great religion of peace, that is.
