My treats are chosen on taste alone. That's why they are treats.
Thanks for stopping by my place!

hmmm...butterscotch square or a piece of dark chocolate....I'm just a weak person when it comes to chocolate...I always choose the most fattening, butter laden goodness...I'm not to concerned about the health benefits...although when it come to salad dressing, I always get an A++ for making the less fattening choice. Does that count?

By definition a treat is something extra. Not an additional health choice, although if it happens to be healthy, whoo hoo.
Like with the 100 calorie granola bars. 100 calories, but artificial sweeteners, funky chocolate tasting 'product', and that funky bitter after taste that just makes me want something else to eat to get rid of that taste. No satisfaction and the option of additional calories just to get what I originally went to the treat for. How healthy is that?
With a real granola bar I get an additional 20 calories, but real chocolate, real sugars, real taste and satisfaction that leaves me at 120 calories and happy.
Don't get me started on the differences between real on the stove popcorn and that nuclear funk in a microwave!

I was just browsing and found your blog...very nice! I always try and make the healthy choice unless I really don't like it. Of course I also have my junk food moments.

It depends...if I'm in the grocery store, supplementing a cart full of necessities with a spur of the moment splurge, I would tend to pick the more healthful one. (Probably feeling that I'm not "supposed" to be bringing home goodies.)
If I have made a trip to See's, however, I will choose my favorites without a thought to nutritional content, nor a worry.

If they are both equally good, then I would definately get the healthy one! It's so nice to try something, find it delicious, and then find out that hey, its good for you too!

I completely agree Scarehaircare. Sometimes you just crave healthy and then other times...

Thanks for your answer!

It would depend on what I am craving at that time. I would consider taste above all, ut sometimes the tastebuds go for something healthy.
Bittersweet chocolate pudding does sound divine right now.....
