I agree but all too often I hear people defend convicted molestors (local priests) by saying they weren't pedophiles but hebephiles (if that's even the right word).
You're making out a legitimate point but some hard-core defend-at-all-cost people try to twist it.

Oh, wow. This is a local bombshell. The little old lady across the street from me is already blabbing her head off about it.
As for defining child molestation, I think it all depends on age. If he messed with 17-year-olds then he's a dumbass. 16-year-olds, bad. 15-year-olds, even worse and hard to justify. 14-year-olds on down, pure predator.

Agreed. Parsing levels of child molestation by age (pedo- or ephebo-) is a distinction without a difference. Child rape is child rape, period. But as always, the presumption of innocence applies until guilt is proven.

The intelligent question thrown out among strategists for both campaigns is, can John McCain really win Pennsylvania? Really win it, not pretend to go for it, as Republicans did in 2004, all the while closing the deal in Ohio when no one was looking. The last Republican presidential candidate to win Pennsylvania was George H.W. Bush, in 1988 -- a win preceded by two Reagans but followed by two Clintons, a Gore and a Kerry.
