It took decades for America to overcome these senssless killings.

Thanks for your remembrance, Jack. The words on your index card are a wonderful reminder of the indelible impression Bobby Kennedy made on so many. Imagine a politician who quotes Aeschylus! And who asked such soul-searching questions of every American and of our nation. Dreams do live on.

RFK is in many ways a personal hero. I (obviously) never had the good fortune to meet the man, but my mother - a conservative Christian who hasn't voted for a Democrat at the federal level in multiple decades - still mists up when she remembers hearing Bobby Kennedy speak in Bedford, IN in the late '60s.
Thanks for this, Jack.

===So on this day, do we offer the image of Barak Obama to those elementary school children creating chaos at Porter-Hays School as an image of exceptionalism owing to his good luck and his rearing by a strong single white mother or do we offer the image of Barak Obama as an image of aspirational hope that points a way to these children beyond the real but, all too easy, excuses of racism and discrimination to hope and success and not failure --- an image that says you too, can be a candidate for President and maybe even President someday if you work hard enough.====
Well played Jack. Very well. But it's a question, yet you forgot the question mark. I surmise you already know the answer. No, I'm not being snarky. It was very well said. But there's just no hope anymore.

I don't think Robert Kennedy attended church for twenty years and never heard a sermon. The people have heard Obama and his plan for america but has Obama heard the people? This presidential election is a tough choice and I may just stay home.

While I haven't really liked any of the presidential candidates this time around (except Ron Paul & he's seriously flawed as a communicator), the diversity in candidates has been heartening. With a woman, a Mormon and the son of an African immigrant running this year, I guess quoting the brother of a Catholic president is pretty appropriate.
Maybe, next time around, Dave Paterson can run & we can throw a blind guy into the mix !
