Cafe Brownsville

Truth Seeker said, "I understand that Chris Davis caused a stir by showing up to videotape the proceedings."

Do tell, do tell. What happened?

Nah, no stir. They let me do my thing, I let them do theirs, on tape.

To be uploaded real soon.

Great! I appreciate you doing this, thanks!

Unbelievable. Robert Sanchez acted like a complete buffoon (again). He interjected the announcement of the birth of his daughter, between speakers, during the public comment period. It appears that he wasn't even listening to the first person in the public comment period. If he was, he certainly didn't show any empathy by throwing in his announcement at a completely inappropriate time. If there could possibly be an appropriate time for his announcement, it would have anywhere else besides the public comment period. He gets to talk as much as he wants during the rest of the meeting. Let the citizens talk during the public comment period.

And bubble gum cigars? What a buffoon.

The Public Comment period is for citizens to comment. I am a citizen, and my daughter is a Brownsville citizen also. I wonder what your comments would be, if I had announced her birth during the regular agenda meeting.

In past meetings, I have also recognized with respect, dignity and compassion to all Brownsville citizens who have gone to a better place (Heaven). You said nothing about that.

I guess you are one of those misinformed citizens who will bash anything associated with me.

As far as me listening to Mr. Ruiz, who happened to be the first speaker, I did, and spoke with him prior to the meeting. He and I communicate often.

And baffoons give out bananas, I gave out bubble gum cigars. Just following tradition after the Miracle on Jacaranda arrived.

Robert Sanchez

Robert, Did you mean to say that "baboons give out bananas?" If not, you just reinforced my point even more. Otherwise, please tell me what a "baffoon" is.

I think that your timing was poor in your announcement. I think it undermined the citizen's comments. You didn't announce Norma Sanchez's birthday between public commenters. If you had, it would have been poor timing as well. The public comment time is for citizens. Board members should not respond, rather listen.

Perhaps there isn't an ideal time to recognize your daughter's birth during a business meeting. That doesn't mean it's unimportant.

Glad to see you frequent this site as much as I do

Mr. Anonymous,

Your comments are well taken. I also am glad I can partipate at this site, and it makes me happy to know you watch the PUB meetings. A well known Doctor in our town tells me that a bafoon is a baboon that is a fool. In other words, fictional.

Some of you bloggers are way too critical. Calmadito.

Robert Sanchez

The public comment period is for everyone to provide announcements. I've been to many a meeting. I've seen officials provide updates on ill, well-known community members, I've seen birthday announcements, I've seen invitations to special, non-town events, etc. etc. I see nothing wrong with Mr. Sanchez's announcement during the public comment period.
