I have to say I was impressed with Oliveira's decision to speak up in opposition to not just Lucio III, but to Juliet Garcia. Both sides made good arguments. I have to admit I like the idea of promoting a true university experience. A strong school spirit can have future dividends in terms of fundraising and alumni involvement. I do, however, feel that UTB keeps trying to start new things without strengthening the foundation of core academics. I'm glad I don't have to make that decision. I could go either way on this one. |

I wonder if the two elected officials who represent their respective districts in one same county (?is that true) could have talked to each other before apppearing before the higher ed committee. |
