Wait! Was that number A? I thought you said "A" not 8? No, I thought you said table all of A. I want to table A not 8. Item A! I can clear this up right now, "A" I want to table A.

This scenario was one of many "memorable" moments at the city commission meeting. Boy, I was embarrassed.

Anyone listening to him better worry for their money because Atkinson and Ahumada, Longoria, and Garza do not inspire trust in the citizens and ratepayers of Brownsville. I get angry each time I view the meeting. Although I became hopeful when Longoria voted on his own.

Question: How many times did the Mayor have to be told that the minutes were correct and that the PUB fee motion failed? This could become Brownsville's next drinking game. Take a drink each time the Mayor interrupts a commissioner he doesn't agree with, take a drink each time Atkinson says something stupid, and take a drink each time they try to intimidate a city employee, take a drink each time Ahumada acts like he is a legal expert, and take a shot each time he cuts off public comments that he doesn't like, and take a drink each time someone says "culture for the children".

I'd be pretty drunk by the end of the adoption of the minutes, but what can you except? I like my beer, as Dr. Montalvo so eloquently stated at the previous meeting, and I would rather buy my beer at the Southmost HEB along with all the welfare WIC, non-starving, get free housing and medical care, able-to-pay-2-dollars-to-support-my-museum "gente" that are in dire need of some "culture" education from the likes of Garza, Longoria, and especially Atkinson, Ahumada and Montalvo.

If this is the culture that they are pushing "for the children" then I'd better start making my evacuation plans. Forget the animal evacuations, where do we sign up for the people evacuation from Brownsville? And can we get it paid for through a PUB fee on our bill?

Your last name starts with A and it has 8 letters. That might be a good COMMONSENSE approach to keep things clear in your head. There is another word that comes to mind that begins with A and only has 7 letters. Right now I can't tell the difference and neither can the tv viewing audience watching channel 12.

You are right that the fee is going to pass. It should come as no surprise when you have a guy like Garza who tells many inside friends that he is going to vote to rescind the tax (which according to PUB insiders is taxing people outside of the city's limit and jurisdiction) and goes ahead and votes with the three angry amigas (Pat, Charlie, and Rick). Garza, you should be ashamed of yourself for voting the way you did last week.

Garza changed his mind in part because he saw an accident and because PUB had lowered their electric customer service charge the night before. First off, he saw a freaking accident? Please the ambulance part of the $2 tax is a rider and he knows it. Not to mention, if these "leaders" care so much about the ambulances, buy them with the new budget that will be increasing do to the latest round of county property appraisals. Why increase our taxes now? Wait until the new fiscal year and include it on next year's budget.

Second, the PUB customer service charge decrease was simply a recommendation by Pat and his PUB chronies. It had not and has not gone into effect. Garza should know that. He was at the PUB meeting. Plus, he knows that the City Commission will have to approve or reject Pat's proposal. Can we recall this imbecil? Is that possible? How does he not know that the decrease would have to addressed by the City Commission?

It doesn't surpise me because of the other leadership we supposedly have. For instance, Charlie says we are saving you a dollar folks. We are saving you a dollar. Well, I want to save three dollars biatch!

It is sad time for the City of Brownsville. As many here know, the 4 angry amigas all cater to the same benefactor and will vote as a block to make sure his will prevails over the interests of the community.
