Peter Zavaletta is so useless and ineffective its an embarrassment. Whatever happened to his big promises to expose the truth about the bridge fiasco? While Zavaletta cries and pouts and quits halfway, the truth behind the missing $21 million bridge grows ever more distant.

Raul Besteiro, a pivotal figure in that scam already died. Every single person who profited from that multimillion dollar bridge scam will die of old age before poor little Peter Zavaletta stops crying and pouting long enough to actually show up and vote.

The sad thing is Peter Zavaletta sounds a lot like his lunatic dad - do it my way or I quit, because I'm more special than you! No attempt to work things out. No attempt to mediate or participate and compromise. No attempt to be rational or work together as a team. If things aren't going Peter's way, then he's running home to daddy! (a single tear runs down his cheek) Will Zavaletta resign already and let someone with a spine take charge? Please.

Zavaletta told the Herald “I think that in order for the public to feel that its interests have been protected, I have to have been involved, and I’m not.” Boy, was he right. He does have to attend the meetings and be involved. That's why he was voted into office for a 4-year term, not just his 2-year "stand on my soap box" term as chairman. Does Prince Peter need a special invitation to board meetings? Can it be possible that he is that arrogant? He needs to shed his last name for a second and realize that the public is not his servant but that he is the public servant.

Nothing got accomplished during his two years of whining and twisting the truth with his able sidekick, Emma Perez. He does not and never has cared about the Port or its operations, seeking only the Herald's headlines by creating controversy and stalling progress and growth.

Former TSC trustees say Crybaby, Sr. was the same way! Once old man Joe couldn't control the board any longer, he stopped attending meetings! Like father, like son.

Peter probably realized he couldn't control the attorneys for the Port and he didn't want to play anymore. The fact that he's missed over 40% of the meetings and still has nerve (even for a Zavaletta) to claim he's been kept out of the loop is just ludicrous. Ball-bustin' Emma Perez caught him with his hand in the absent jar and let him off with a slap on the wrist. The mental picture of how he was able to pull that off with her is just disgusting.

Peter Zavaletta has always voiced his opinion. He has always gone against the grain. He asks the tough questions and makes the tough statements. He states what the taxpayers believe, but are too scared to voice. "Stalling progress?" Please. The bridge debacle has years (and millions) under its belt with a firm that will continue to swallow taxpayer dollars especially since it continues to support from the majority of the commissioners. Explain to me how BND commissioners can support a firm that's made millions on a product its yet to produce. Nothing exists but a trail of overseas bank accounts, bogus agreements of support from Mexico and a long list of wined-and-dined consultants. It's no wonder the county has apparently decided to stay out of this one with Mexico not far behind. Can the taxpayers do something? File a suit? File charges? Why are the BND commissioners needed to do this? Besides, it's our money is it not?
