That's a tough one. My husband always follows the housing market & he always seems to know if it's going up or down. I'll ask him when he gets home tonight if it's supposed to go down more. It may be too late for you by the time I get back to you though. Hope you're able to make a decision.

It's like that horrible game show, Deal or No Deal. I can't watch that show--too much stress!
I felt the same sense of angst trying to figure out when to lock in our interest rate. We ended up just doing it the day we officially signed and submitted our loan application, and then I forced myself to stop watching the interest rates, because I could easily be standing right beside you, bawling in the bathroom. However, our mortgage company does not offer a re-lock, which is a pretty cool perk.
All that to say, I have no advice, but I hope you get a great deal and a monthly payment that causes no pain!

I would wait. I think things are going to drop again. Financial forecasters are saying that it'll get worse before it gets better, and that the rock-bottom should hit in 2010.
