Each writer has their own writing style and charisma and different webmasters or potential clients appreciate that. However, they hire the writer with the style that they are looking for at the time or the style that fits the project at hand.
A writer should always write how he talks or should I say the grammatically correct version of how he talks. The potential clients aren't always overly impressed with big words and phrases. A lot of them would rather hire a writer who writes in simple English. Most readers can relate to a writer who uses simple Engish instead of someone who uses heavy words and phrases. When I'm reading an article and the writer is using a complex vocabulary, the first thing I think of is that they are trying a little too hard to impress readers and webmasters. If a reader can see through it than obviously the webmaster can as well.
