Thanks, Christy, for your stories - you've answered something I admit I was curious about: the origin of your name. As for your travels - wow! It sounds like a wonderful way to start a life together.
Thanks too for the tag, although I may be a little slow in responding. When I started thinking about it, I realised there are many things I could mention, and would actually quite like to write about - it simply hadn't occurred to me before. But you've given me a good excuse! I plan to spread it out though - a post per item. At my present rate of blogging, that's likely to take me into next year!

Dan, thank you for your warm words -- certainly your fun and heartful post was a beautiful inspiration!
Andy, I'm so glad to hear that you are already thinking of some aspects of yourself you'd like to write about...and I like the prospect of you taking your time to post them, like one of those serial novels!

You're right about being middle-aged. You can have lifelong friends, for what seems like FOREVER.

Hi Rhea,
Thank you for stopping by and taking time to leave a comment!
I find it both poignant and comforting having "forever" friends, many of whom I only see or talk with once in a while anymore. The complex histories between us, jagged edges mellowed out over time (either that, or they are the reasons we're not friends anymore...) and based on who we've always been, are a good deep counterpoint to more recently made friendships, where our knowledge of one another is based on who we are (or seem to be!) now.
