Chere Christy,

A fun video to watch *and* i think we are in a situation in our country and in world history where it doesn't matter who we elect, it won't change things fundamentally.

If Jesus, Gautama Buddha were to be elected tomorrow, it wouldn't change things because we're stuck in a huge, huge box...

I'm very grateful to Jim Rough for offering a (critical and -mostly- appreciative and practical) theoretical perspective as where we are and what it'd take for us to get out where we are...and it's not about campaigning for the right candidate (my personal view is that we need a course of Electoral Colonics, put "Nobody" in charge for all Federal elected offices for four years, to cleanse the body politic)...

I plan on writing in "Nobody" for all elected positions from now on...

Highly recommend Jim's Society's Breakthrough (first chap and ordering at Societysbreakthrough.com

Oh, Christy, and can you extend your hand, yes I need help getting off the soapbox. Whew!

warmly and a hug,
raffi

p.s. see you at WOSonOS...

Hello there dear Raffi! Well, guess what, there have only been a couple of sunny days since you left

Let me join you on that there soapbox!

Yes, agreed that fundamental transformation will not occur through elections -- and, as a practitioner of holism, I am deeply certain that the big picture, and the multitude of tiny individual grains of the picture both matter. In other words, our individual choices do matter even if only collective choice will result in real change, because we contribute to that collective choice through our individual choices.

I remember 8 years ago when surprisingly many people said out loud that they did not see much difference between voting for George Bush and voting for Al Gore. There might not have been as much of a difference as you would like, but I can't help but think that the whole world be a very much different place now if that collective choice had been different (which it was, of course, but not as much as it could have been)

OK, I'll step down now, too! And I am very much looking forward to seeing you in SF in July!

love,

Christy, dear,

Yes, those individual choices do matter. I don't want it to sound like I'm saying you're doing something wrong! Just sharing what I would've done if I could participate in the caucus- encourage that we vote for Nobody. : ))

I delight in your energy!

Until July!
And if you should have a chance would love to hear how the AOH was for you.

love,
raffi

hi dear raffi,

my friend sheri captioned one of her photos taken at the aoh as "jamming in the field of love," which i think is a very apt description! i shall tell you more about it in detail when i see you this summer or before.

love,

Gravatar Hi Christy... hope this finds you well.

Passion and inspiration is very powerful and he is very well spoken. To me, all great leaders were and are inspirational.

Now, they have to have some other skills, and we will see if Obama does, but he has a skill that most do not.

Inspiration is the oxygen of the soul and I find it interesting how many folks who see an inspirational guy, look for something that is wrong.

These folks have lost touch, or maybe never had any touch with their soul. Inspiration comes from love, I think it probably begins in the
“nest” an innocence that can be carried through out ones life. Fear is the shadow of love, and I see the stark difference between Bush and
many others and Obama. There is no question that the world is a dangerous place, but to just come from the place of fear is not going to change it.

You can not inspire from a place of fear…. And we are a society that is fearful.

In my readings on inspiring people… these folks had a fairly clear inner knowing about their Destiny…their Cause and their Calling.

In his book called Inspire, Lance Secretan, puts it this way:

Why am I here------>What will I stand for-----> What will I do…

Words are powerful. Martin Luther King did not say… I have a 5 step plan… no he had a “DREAM”. People yearn to be inspired. Inspiration is different than motivation…. Motivation is still external….. but to become inspired, that is an internal event. Inspiration comes from a place of authenticity and from what I can see Obama is comfortable in his own skin. The old leader, McCain, the fierce brave warrior, who takes no crap, is ideologically bankrupt…. But still hanging around in large numbers allover the world.

A cause is a dream that connects us from our present reality to a richly imagined future.

I will certainly hope that he gets a shot….

How are you doing???? mike
