Hi Laura
it's amazing how terminology/measurement varies around the world- I keep on forgetting! If in doubt, I always google- eg this site: http://www.globalgourmet.com/cgi...ts?
convcalc.hts
1. Caster sugar = superfine granulated
2. volume to weight measurement varies depending on the ingredients- but 250g = 8.75ounces
good luck with it!

I've been saving this post for a while hoping that another non-metric reader would ask for some measurement help! But no... I have to out myself and ask a few questions. Sorry. :)
1. What is caster sugar? Granulated sugar? Powdered sugar?
2. How many cups would be 250g 115g and 100g?
Thanks for posting this recipe - it sounds great and I would love to try it but want to be sure I'm using the right quantity of sugar and flour and the proper type of sugar! :)

Thankyou so much, Di! They arrived today and were absolutely delicious... I'm stowing away this recipe for when my baking enthusiasm returns (it's almost midnight and I've just finished 50 shortbread... even though it's christmas, I am all baked out now!) :)

Di,
I've been trying to leave comments for a while on various posts, but most times I try I haven't been able to.
I've been following your run-up to Christmas with great interest and enjoyment. Well done with the beautiful knitting - and I agree that baking is what's needed to keep things in proportion (except waistlines).
I think you did brilliantly with your first pair of shoes. A really remarkable achievement.
Thanks for all your generous and supportive and insightful comments.
I hope you have a very happy Christmas.
