Oh! What a gorgeous loaf of bread!! Please, I have been reading a lot about No-knead breads, but can't seem to find a source or recipe for them ... can you share please where you found the recipe for this bread? As well as other blogs/sites that have similar recipes? I REALLY appreciate it!! Keep up the tremendous work - LOVE your blog!

Wow!!! That bread looks amazing!! I make a lot of homemade bread using the bread maker and am also dissatisfied with the results that I've been getting lately... I've been meaning to try some home made oven baked bread for a while now but was always worried about the time and mess associated with it. I love using Laucke flour but have never used it to make a loaf like yours.
Great Work!!! Very inspirational!!

you do look like an artisan baker. I'd like this toasted and liberally smeared with avocado!

Di, go to Simply No Knead. You can ring them or order via the website and they deliver to your home. I get the unbleached white and wholemeal flours, and the organic spelt when I'm feeling flush. They also carry a huge range of seeds, yeast, natural improver and extras, including breadtins and the baker's helper (scraper) which is a godsend.
It's wonderful when a huge 20kg parcel gets delivered right to your door!

Great bread! Isn't it just the greatest miracle recipe? The dough scraper is a must - marketed as 'The Baker's Friend' it is a semi circular piece of flexible yet firm plastic that lets you clean dough from bowls and other surfaces in a jiffy. Very easy to clean. I bought mine a millions years ago from a catering supply store for something like $2.50.
Now Flour. I have used a large number and find they have very distinct flavours as well as other properties like water absorption. My all time favourite is unbleached organic Eden Valley (available delivered from Green Line On-line). Prior to discovering Eden Valley I was using Kialla, which has the advantage of coming in great re-useable calico sacks if you buy bulk. It goes without saying that bulk purchases are significantly cheaper though you do need to store them. It is worth trying as many different kinds as you can - health food stores, the Vic market and food co-ops as well as on-line organics all supply from a variety of mills.

That bread is just the best isn't it. I've been making it every weekend for months now, and still love it more than any bread I can buy around here.

Hmm - I can just smell the beautiful aroma of freshly baked breads floating around your house. And there really is nothing better than warm bread with the butter dripping through the holes!! Thank you!

Carol Bates Simply No Knead flour is brilliant. http://www.snk.com.au/html/s02_a...0&
nav_top_id=55 They're based in Seaford but I'd call them and find out where you can get it closer to town. Mum has been using her flour for at least 20 years and highly recommends it. Enjoy.

Yep, I second the comment about the dough scraper! I really like Laucke Mills 'Wallaby' flour for this kind of bread. I can buy it in my local (VIC regional) Coles so I assume it's fairly readily available. Good luck in future breadmaking endeavours!

Oooh yummo! I saw this recipe on Sooz's blog when she made it and printed it out with all the intentions of making it, the recipe went missing and i forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder :) As for bread flour, maybe you could ask at the bakeries if they will sell you a bag, i've heard of people doing this.

We had your asparagus pasta last night for dinner, so I think I can see some bread in my future... for flour sources, if you have one nearby, food co-operatives will often order in for you flour in bulk quantities of 1kg up to 25kg. Probably health food and specialty food shops would do the same.

If you're gonna make bread, no-knead or otherwise, get yourself a dough scraper. It makes the clean-up *so* much easier. Truly.
Off for a piece of toast now. I don't think it'll be as yummy as yours though.
