Thanks for the pattern requests. I obtained the pattern for free from Interweave when they had it available for free download. I don't know why it is still available, but due to copyright reasons I don't feel comfortable sending it to people. If you want a copy I suggest emailing Interweave or Kate Gilbert (Needles on Fire).

this pattern is no longer available, and I have been unable to buy an old copy of the interweave magazine it was originally in. Where did you purchase your pattern from? I just love it.

Oh this is beautiful, I have been stalking this pattern for a while and I really like your example. The yarn is not easily available here, does anything spring to mind as a substitute? Maybe a Rowan or Debbie Bliss tweed? I would love to hear any thoughts you have on the yarn.

I'm so glad you like it. I didn't cast off either. I sewed in the live stitches. Is that not what it says to do? It must have been edited out. You look great.

i love your jacket. so beautiful! mine is still in progress, i'm about 1/3 done with the back and one front piece done. can't wait to finish soon so i can wear it this winter. i'm thinking of getting some greenish tagua nut buttons for closure, but these are hard to find!

This is the nicest Sunrise I've seen. I loved the pattern when I saw it in Interweave.. but I became a bit unsure after that- because I haven't liked all examples I've seen.
This now makes me want to knit it.
Congratulations on losing baby weight too!
cheers,
Louise

Surely Baby C is much too young to be expressing those sorts of opinions about his maman?
Seriously, well done. Maybe this is the pattern I've been searching for everywhere, and it's been under my nose the whole time...

certainly these kinds of garments are few and far between for me too, so i know exactly how thrilled you must be. and rightly so, as your sunrise is beautiful! great work, di!
i have a few potential yarns for this in my stash (all tweed, of course), but the soft tweed looks gorgeous so maybe i should try to get my hands on some. is it nice in real life, too?

Finished garments that we are happy with are few and far between, so you must cherish this. The fact that you look *ahem* sexy is a fabulous bonus.

Your jacket is fabulous! I'll admit to flipping by that pattern, but now that I see yours I'm going to go back and take another look. Great job!
