Just read all of the info about comparing 3 Antivirus programs. I use AVG for about 2 years now, I previuosly used Avast. I have never tried Avir. One of the things that jumped out at me is even though it appears that Avir is better in most of the categories it doesn't provide an e-mail scanner? Isn't this where most viruses come from? I may be wrong, but I like AVG, it updates automatically and since putting it on my machine I haven't had any trouble at all.

Thanks for your opinion Phil. AVG is also my favorite. The comparison there hasn't changed that.

AVG is no longer free and will not update. I'm not even sure it still provides any protection as the resident shield was flagged.

Hi anonymous.
Sorry, but your wrong and I'm glad you are wrong. AVG still offers free anti-virus. In addition, they also offer a free anti-spyware.
