Is there a freebie out there that is close to Photoshop CS2? If so please let me know.
Fed up with paying out lots of $'s.

Is there, using Outlook Express, a program that alerts you to a new email by using a small window on the screen rather than on the toolbar. I see them sometimes in movies.

John,
You options are Paint.net - http://www.getpaint.net/
and
GimpShop - http://gimpshopdotnet.blogspot.com/
Either of those ought to take care of your need!

Is there a way of hyperlinking words to open new sheets in a spread sheet. I am thinking of an address book where the names of the children will be listed and each name will open to a new sheet giving their particulars

Hi
Is it possible to insert a photo in an html,(rich text), email such that it will enlarge the same way that is sometimes seen on web pages, etc. ?
Should work in Thunderbird and/or Outlook Expess. Should be freeware.
Thanks !

Hi!
For the email notification (that Ray asked for), poppeeper (that Bill mentioned), is a great solution!
If you want an equally good open source solution, give poptray a try:
http://www.poptray.org/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/poptray/
As with poppeeper, you may have to dl addittional components.
eg. for gmail notification, you have to install PopTrayPlugins_beta6.exe (look at sf.net dl page).
I've tried both. They are excellent and error-free.
Did I forgot something? Please tell me. ( giorgos67@gmail.com ).

Hi RMS
Yes you can add thumbnails that are clickable in Outlook Express.
Here's an example:

Yup, that was a fine example of an email with that feature! )
However, guess that I asked the wrong question. What I should have asked is :
Please give me source of a free program that I can use to enable an inserted photo in a rich text email to become enlarged when it is clicked on. The example shows that it is possible, but I want to be able to use that process in an email that I write myself. HOW ?? Hope that my request is more direct and clearly stated this time. (In other words, how do I enable such a feature ?)
Thanks again for reply.

Hi RMS,
Sorry, I don't know that there is such a program. Here's how I did it.
Follow this link to find out how to enable the Source view in Outlook Express.

Then upload your image to http://ImageShack.com.
Copy the thumbnail code for sites. Paste the thumbnail code into your Source code in an email message.
Done

I'll try to do that.
P.S.: You have a 'neat' and very useful newsletter ! Often use your suggestions and install the apps that you suggest.
