Comments for Clif Notes Newsletter

Gravatar I need a good password recovery utility. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Gravatar Hi Bill,

You didn't mention what types of passwords you need to recover. Here's a great site that specializes in freeware password recovery. Hopefully one of Nirsoft's apps will work for you.

Gravatar Hi Cliff

thank you for the great newsletter. I always look forward to it. I know that I am not entitled to support because I obtained Bufferzone form "giveawayof theday". I removed the software using its own undelete after a few days because it slowed down the computer and I couldn't play videos. It left me with a directory "virtual" and subdirectory "untrusted" on my C drive which I have emptied but cannot delete and two entries in my Win XP registry, "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTZbVirtualFolder.ZbVirtualFolder
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTZbVirtualFolder.ZbVirtualFolder.1
which I can't remove. I hope that someone will be able to help to remove these items.

Best Regards

Geoff

Gravatar Hi Geoff,

I would try to remove those folder with this tool called Unlocker.

The registry entries can be removed by hand or with a utility such as Startup Inspecter

Have fun!

Good luck!
Tell us how it works out for you.

Gravatar Clif,

Regarding those file recovery program you mentioned, I have been using PC Inspector and wondering if there is one of the 10 you would recommend; I don't want to try all 10 or even a couple to just find out that they are not that much better than PC Inspector.

As always thanks for your great newsletter and for your expert help.

BRIAN

Gravatar Hi Brian,

I so rarely need to use file recovery programs that I can't give you a goood answer.

I believe the one you are using is one of the best. No need to look any further if you are happy with it.

Have fun.

Gravatar Clif,

Thanks for that information. I will stick with the PC Inspector and save a lot of time by not evaluating other programs.

Thanks once again for your advise.

BRIAN

Gravatar it'll be a bit before i can test any recovery. but, i've got a hard drive full of stuff to test, so we'll see.

i found the PC inpsector (and some others) -so thx all
