Hi Clif,
Love your newsletters, I always find something useful and interesting in each!
Do you perhaps know of a program to keep track of IT equipment? I am using an Excel file at the moment, but am wondering if there is an easier way, without setting up an elaborate Access db.
Many thanks,
Lucia

Hi Clif,
Great newsletter....one of the best!! I'm looking for a good Back Up program. One that after the first back up will take a short time to back up the last additions before shutting down each night.
Thanks,
jlh

I’m looking for some way to automate mail rules for MS Outlook. I would like to be able to drag mail from the Inbox to a destination folder and have that drag-and-drop process create the Outlook mail rule so that all future mail from the source would automatically go to the selected folder. A free plug-in for this would be great. I’m not averse to using another mail program if this feature already exists in one.

@Lucie:
It will be hard to beat Excel for ease of use. I'll look around, but nothing pops into my head right now.
@James:
Try looking here for backup tools.

@Glen:
Sorry Glen. Free plugins for Outlook are rare. I'll keep an eye out for something, but don't hold your breath.

I want to edit and combine some mp4 files. Is there any freeware that will do this?

@James,
I suggest SyncBack. I use it but It does not have an option to run when you shut down your computer. It has a scheduler but I just run it manually myself.

This is a good reference to see what you need to back up on your e-mail.

If you use Internet Explorer, back up your favorites located here:
C:Documents and Settings[your name]Favorites
If you use Firefox, back up a copy of "Bookmark.htm" in your documents and settings folder.

Hi All,
I have a handicapped friend who needs a utility to prevent multiple key strokes when a key is held down too long. I have done a lot of GOOGLE-ing without any success. I did find a few DOS programs that would let me turn off key repeat but I need one that runs in WIN2000.
Thanks, Balayage

@Balyage,
These features are already built into most Windows machines. See this page for more info.

Handy Backup does it on startup. A good Prog.
http://www.handy-backup.com/ is the site for the FREEWARE version.
http://www.handybackup.net/ is the site for PAID versions.
I'd like to know if there is a free MFT defragger or cleaner.
