I'm looking for a sticky note program that has a roll-up function and can open new notes without going through a menu. I would also need to be able to change the font in both size and color.
I have tried several different programs, but none of them had all these features.
Thanks

Hi cliff, where I live in NZ bandwidth is not cheap, I am looking for a program to schedule my downloads. Ideally integrated with firefox, I would like to be able to click and download as normal but have the option to start it later eg from 12 midnight to 6 am when i can download 4 times as much for the same cost. u torrent does this brilliantly but I want to be able to do it for 'normal downloads'
thanks

Free Download Manager will do this. It'll even shut your computer off after it is finished if you want.

Hi,
I need free software to cross-reference any RAM stick (laptop or desktop). In other words, given a RAM stick with its associate identification, show other RAM sticks (if any) and their IDs that can be used as substitues.
Thanks... Leo

I'm looking for some free or almost free software that will work with microsoft outlook something like "Prophet" software, for contact management. I have and use ACT but would like to consider something that works directly with outlook.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi Cliff,
Try as I might, I can't find a free backup program that will support DAT drives. NTBackup is OK, but its just too complicated for most people to manage. Any ideas?
Thanks for a great newsletter.

can you tell me a way to map my network and in particular display network attached printers (connected to router and switch not another computer) pathnames and IP adresses. They are not visible in network neighbourhood and if we get a power interruption the IP address changes. I have two computers on the network, one with 98 and one with XP and 2 printers, one of each in separate studies. I am using just simple windows TCP networking.

Hi Dan,
Colorful folders? Have you tried this one?

As for the colorful folders being portable ... I don't think you'll find an easy way to do that.

In one of my other free newsletters that I get for computer tips, there was a link to what I think was Pcpitstop for a free scan of your PC to find things that are taking up space that are not needed. Anyway, it found 1049 such things, but then it said it would only fix 15 for free otherwise you need to buy the program. Here is a sample of what it found: Entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{000209FF-0000-0000-C000-
000000000046}InprocServer32. Do you know of a freeware program that will do this, or can you tell me how to delete them myself. Thanks, been missing you the past couple of weeks. Paul

I need a Windows XP/Vista driver for the legacy Logitech Pagescan Color Pro Parallel Port Scanner. Yeah, I know, it's ANCIENT, but then so am I! Besides, it's still the only detachable paper scanner that'll handle hardcover books...and, it's reasonably portable. I'm tired of having to run it on an archaic Win98/Me (A-r-r-r-g-h!) Laptop. Any way to get a VXD for this dinosaur?
Thanks,

Hi PUNdamentalist,
I did a quick search of the most likely places and found only USB versions. Sorry.
Have you tried Tom's Hardware forums?
http://www.tomshardware.com/us/
Someone there may have a work-around for you.

Hi David, give this one a try. I'm not sure it will do everything but it may help.

Another program I can't seem to find anywhere is one that will convert swf files to something I can burn to DVD to play in any DVD player. Is there such a thing?
Thanks.

Hi Paul,
I use a freebie called EasyCleaner. You can find out more about registry cleaners in an article I wrote at Lockergnome.
