If the programs on your \"external drive\" are \"portable\" themselves then all you need to do is copy them into your \"C:Program Files\" folder and run them from there.
If they were installed using an installer program and are listed in the \"Add or Remove Programs\" folder (Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs) then they need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled using \"C:Program Files\" as the new destination.

Second, after entering my comment the page reloads and I am at the top again. I need then to scroll back to where I was. With the pop-up comment I just close the window and carry on.

It is an easy to use freeware program that uses the power of the open-source freeware program FFmpeg. The have a setup on the site, but you can install it, copy the files from the installation folder to another folder and uninstall it to use it on a USB stick.

I actually like KeyNote very much and I've been using it at work for at least two years now. If you want to take a step up to more features, I can recommend EssentialPim or EverNote.
