There's a lady in a wheelchair that sits outside Trader Joes looking depressed with a basket for donations. I don't give her money because I don't like that approach. Would she even smile if I gave her something? Her frown looks frozen.
I hear childhood diabetes gives really nice tote bags.

I do hate when they send me stuff without asking. That way, they make you feel like shit no matter what. If you give money, you feel like they tricked you. If you don't give anything, you feel guilty. It's just not right.

It was in my head, apparently. Like so many things I say.
I usually just give the sheets to Lily for an art project (which ends up being her whole face or body covered in stickers), then I don't feel bad about not sending money. Because, hey, free art supplies for a kid. Can't feel guilty about that.
i've just come to a point where i take the labels and say screw the guilt. i think it's because there are so many of them now. if there were just one or two though ...
