Hey everybody, just wanted to note that the links don't show up when you read this post in Blogger for some reason but they do here on our class blog. I'm not sure why this is. Does anyone know how I can fix that? Also, i know we've been through it before but i just couldn't figure out how to give Debbie a trackback. Sorry for my rusty blogging skills, your help is appreciated.

Kennie,
Sorry I can't help you with your technical problems because as you can probably see from my posts I am not exactly computer savvy but I did want to comment on what you have written.
I think you provided a great link to some of the ways to write an effective blog. With all of the computer "geeks" out there it is hard for just a regular ol' college student to know that they can have a blog that can be just as effective. Basically i think it comes down to just speaking from the heart. I think we would all agree that if a blog post is written almost like a casual conversation everyone involved will feel that they made a connection and can relate to what is being written. Isn't that what we are trying to do with blogging, simply make some sort of connection? I'm not saying we should start a blog and pour all of our personal thoughts and feelings into it I just think we all need to not be scared of blogging and just do what comes naturally to us.
So I guess I would say to just get your opinion out there. Don't rely on rules or codes for your blog to make it effective, rely on your own opinion. I think sometimes we just all need to hear ideas from someone else no matter what field it is in and blogging is becoming the new way of doing this.

I think these are great basic tips for anyone interested in starting any kind of blog. I especially agree with the tip about posting frequent entries, because as I discussed with Cathy Taylor of Adfreak, continually producing fresh, new content is one of the key factors in maintaining an audience and in attracting new readers.
Most college students have probably never thought about starting a blog related to their future career plans, but since we at Northeastern have to start thinking about those things early, blogging is something we should all consider. It's something that anyone can do, and any employer would be impressed to see someone our age take this kind of initiative; it shows that you're actively interested and involved in your field of study.

Hey broooo, These are some really good tips! I think they are all relevant to what we have talked about in class. This is a good guide for anyone wanting to start a blog. I wonder how many of us will start one after this class is over?
