This has some good insight. I agree that blogging is going to continue to grow and expand over time. As I mentioned in an earlier post, blogs have no yet passed the mommy test according to Jeremy Pepper. This means they are still too hard for most people to use and read. A lot of the time, people are not even aware they are reading them.
I think over time that blog will evolve and get easier to use. With easier use, more people will gravitate to the medium. Blogging could be a very rich medium in the way it opens the channels of communication. Again, this is just a matter of if the company is authentic, and the blog is done right.
As for the last part of your post, once again, I agree. It's going to be vital to many of our careers (if not all) to keep up with the changing technologies.

I can't really grasp the concept of different forms of blogging evolving, because personally, I like where it is right now. It's not so overwhelmingly prevalent that it's annoying, and blogs are relatively simple to read and create on your own. But, of course, companies are going to gravitate towards the newest technologies to stay on top of things, which is a good thing for them. For us - the less technologically-involved public - it might be a little overwhelming if new forms of blogging start popping up when its simple form is still fairly new to most of us. I think once blogging becomes more mainstream, that's when these new forms will start emerging. Some people/companies kind of are already doing the "audblogging" thing with Podcasts. Anyways, no matter what form it's in, however, I think that blogging will always be a marketing tool with potential.

Blogging can affect business in many ways. One way it will affect it is by making communication networks larger and possible strong due to the ease of use. Many people do not like face to face communication and by blogging they can say what they really mean. Another way is by helping the business become more "computerized" the employees will learn more ways to communicate and different ways to communicate. In today's society, technology is culture and this aspect of life is changing business and communication completely.

Blogging is a great way to move into the future. I have been a fan of blogs for quite some time now & I think this is a good step for companies looking to market themselves to other audiences. As it is right not not too many people blog, but it has been growing. Companies are now trying to cover the whole field when it comes to marketing and maybe they will catch some new audiences in the process. People have to face it, whether you like blogging or not, the future is inevitable. If you don't keep up, you simply will not be able to be involved in a lot of different things.

Over the last 9 years blogging has grown from something no one did to something nearly everyone does. The growth of blogging was first spurred by the popularity of Myspace and then Facebook. The newest blogging "craze" is Twitter. Many professionals are being urged by bosses, CEOs, etc. to begin using Twitter as a means of "advertising". Twitter is much more simple than Myspace and Facebook, therefore it is much more accessible to the working class.

Blogging has become extremely popular over the last several years. It has evolved and become much easier to use. Although it is annoying at times, it is also addicting. Since the rate at which they are used has grown tremendously, it would be a great way would companies to advertise. Advertising through blogs is a way in which businesses can easily reach different audiences.

I think it's important for people to realize the benefits of blogging whether it be contributing new ideas and thoughts to better their career path or to simply give insight and provide more knowledge. I think although it may be challenging at first to understand that with practice and constant use it will become easier. I think it serves as an instrument necessary to better the marketing and working world. Blogging allows businesses and employees to reach out to their target audience and better their revenues. Another benefit of blogging is it's accessibility. People can access it from the internet whether it be in their local job facility or from their cell phone (iPhone, Blackberry's, etc).

I agree that blogging is here to stay and is also a good way for people or businesses to advertise any products they are trying to sell. Many companies already do a good enough job advertising but blogging can help with advertising more. There are people who have become well known and even famous from just blogging on sites like youtube and many other common sites. The technology that is probably going to be more commonly used is video blogging.

I think corporate blogging is a good way to put thoughts on paper. Originally blogging came about because of brainstorming idea's and has become a very used tool in today's generation and should definitely continue to be used for the next few decades as a source of informaiton

I think that blogging is an excellent way to stay on top of what is going on in the world around us. They are extremely useful in not only open discussion forms but as marketing means as well. Blogs have been around for a while, and I think that the longer that they are here the more prevalent they will become.

Blogging is a large part of people lives and they won't go anywhere anytime soon. Companies will try to use blogs as a mean to communicate with people to see how they can improve their product. Blogging may one day become the alot of info is delivered between people.

Blogging is an essential asset to company's marketing departments. Blogs are a great way to feed the public vital information about a company in a way that is interesting and informative. In the sense of blogging for companies, i believe that different forms of blogging may appear but will not be as effective. The public can only take so much and if more is thrown at them, they will begin to turn their heads.
As for personal blogging, they will continue to expand throughout the internet and websites. People love to have their opinions seen and heard and blogging is the key way for the public to relay their thoughts with out causing too much trouble.
Noted in the article, blogging may become more visual and audio but only on sights that allow it. I dont think that this will affect companies too much unless companies do not screen their blogs.

Blogging is and will be important to businesses for the marketing aspect for a long time. Getting what ever they want to say out is easiest by using blogs because most people check/use daily blogging. I think blogging will evolve to more than it is now because so many people are using it now. I dont personally use blogging, but i know a lot of people who do and i know a lot of famous people do as well.

I can only imagine what will come in the future. I think blogging has become another big part of American's everyday routine. As we now see they are used to communicate with other companies and now we see internet conferencing to replace meetings in person. Unfortunately in the future we may just see and communicate with people through technology and there will be no need to go into the office or meet with those in person.

I think that blogging will evolve into all of these things mentioned. I also think that like everything else these days, that blogging can hurt a company just as it hazs helped it. People can bring out all of the negative things about a company such as dislike of how things are controlled in the front office or even things that could be bad if the news media got a hold of. So I think blogging will get us in trouble just like the rest of our technology

Blogging has easily become a fast way for anyone and everyone to get their opinion out to anyone who wants to read it. With the help of other websites like Facebook and Twitter the blog has become more popular than anyone every thought it would when it was first introduced. Now anyone from CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, professional athletes, and the average joe can post a blog to the entire world. With regards to advertising, the more hits that a certain blog gets the higher likelihood that if it is an advertisement that someone will purchase a product that someone is trying to push.

Blogging is widely accepted but I disagree that it could be a place for the next generation of marketing and that blogs are a place for open discussion. The very reason that blogs face issues with credibility is that they DO NOT HAVE credibility. Anyone can post a blog about anything and they should just be considered a source of entertainment and nothing more. On a side note I hate the term "blogosphere."

I believe blogging has definitely grown over the past couple years and I believe will still continue to grow more as generations keep blooming. With technology and computers these days, more information is continuing to blossom over the internet. Schools are turning to internet to get degrees on and submit homework over the internet. They are a great source of advertising especially geared towards young adults and I believe it is a great way to keep up with new things that are happening in the world today that may affect their type of businesses.

In the future technology will advance like it does every year. How will these advancements effect blogging? Blogging already is simple and easy to read, but companies will find ways with new technologies to make blogging easier and more convenient in the future. In the future people will be blogging off their phones and laptops and whose to say that televisions wont advance to the point were they will act as a tv and a computer capable of things hard to imagine. Blogging will be around in the future but it may be a different form of blogging. Since new trends happen everyday and vanish in the blink of an eye who is to say what will and what wont be around in the future.

Blog are widely accepted across America and are definitely here to stay. Sites such as Facebook and Twitter have evolved blogging into something bigger than anyone expected. This blog is very true. Blogging is the new way to communicate. Im not really hip to blogging and blogging sites but I can see that it is a good way to express feelings and information. I cant imagine what technology can do in the future to inhance blogging. There are already video blog sites and with that comes voice blogs just as easy. Maybe one day there will be ways to virtually sit and chat with a large group of people. Im excited about what is to come.

Blogging is certainly a completely different animal than it was before and if companies haven't utilized its potential yet they're making a mistake. A random stranger from New York started video blogging a year ago and now has over 200,000 subscribers on youtube alone. There's even a girl on youtube who has managed more subscriptions to her page than Miley Cyrus, Disney's wunderkind. Things like that are what companies should pay attention to as proof that blogging is a major part of the world now.

I think blogging is an effective way for businesses to advertise their products and to keep what they are selling relevant. Blogging is good way to get their customer's opinions so that they can better whatever they are selling. Also with blogging technology improving it is vital for every business to join in the blogging extravaganza.

I agree that blogging is here to stay. More and more people and businesses have started blogging since it came about. Its a great way for businesses to advertise events and leaves and open forum for the public. It can allow people to get other average people's opinion instead of the masses. Also, it is a great way for the everyday person to keep up to date with their family and friends. The future of blogging will continue to increase in the future as it has in the past.

I think blogging is a way to get real opinions on news/politics issues. A few companies own the majority of news corporations so even though we're watching or listening to different news programs, we're essentially getting the same information. Bloggers could potentially become these companies biggest rival. Bloggers are uncensored; they can say whatever they want. Like this blog about blogs states, this is just the beginning!

Blogging is a very effective and I think it will grow into bigger than anybody has predicted. Also, with all of these new blogging sites and everything you can do now advertise something and another blogger will reply and possibly buy your product. In today's world everybody is technilogically savvy and that is a big part in blogging also and I think it is going to continue to grow in a good way.

This article is definitely right about the future of blogging. Marketing I would say is the number one use for blogging whether people are trying to market themselves or a business is advertising. I think it's also I great way to vent for people who have strong opinions about stuff and want to voice them. The blogging scene I'm sure will only get bigger over time seeing as how myspace, facebook, and twitter are all forms of this.

I agree that blogging is an effective way to communicate and that it may be the future of organizational communication. In blogs, many people who will not speak their opinion in front of others will write it behind the screen of the computer. This will benefit communcation in that more opinions will be communicated. However, it also hurts the communication because, as said before, blogs are not credible sources.

I also agree that blogging is not going any where. Blogging has increased tremendously by the average person as well as business people. Blogging allows companies to gage what the public truly thinks about their product on a informal level. It also allows people to write about their views, opinion, values, daily activities and all other sorts of subjects and allow the public to view it and comment on it. Blogging has truly become the Internets coffee house.

I agree that blogging isn’t going anywhere. They are very useful in open discussion forms and for marketing means too. I think that the most popular form will be for advertising in the future years though. Because I think it is going to take awhile to escalate to higher forms of blogging such as videos. However I do think that blogging is an excellent way to keep up with what is going on in the world. I also think when video blogging does start to become more easily available that it is going to sky rocket and be used a lot.

Blogging has improved the business world and will continue to grow and change over time..or at least i believe it will. Blogging helps people to get their ideas and thoughts out to others with an ease in not having to speak with someone fave to face. Also it allows people from all over to get their ideas out to others who may not be in the same state or even the same country as them. I think not only will blogging advance over the years to come but it might also improve into something much more and it will have a drastic effect on the business world

Anyone and everyone who owns a business, runs a business, or works for a business uses the internet. Blogs are absolutely hear to stay and only evolving. Its the easiest and most convenient way for today's public to gain information, so why wouldn't businesses advertise themselves to today's internet- crazed consumers? Blogging already has evolved into video and instant messaging. Using video is much more appealing to a viewer than the standard back and forth blogging. However, blogging is not going to make or break a business and it still leaves questions about credibility despite today's advances in technology.

Yes, blogging is here to say as you put it. I however think the popularity of blogs will decline with the over saturation of commercial businesses as they embark on there blogging media blitz. I see I decline because many people hate being sequestered into ads and promotions when they only want one thing. And that one thing is the nature, tone, and understanding of the intended message. If it wasn't for the purposeful use of internet search engines I would cease to use sites like yahoo because of it's annoying pop-up advertisements. People aren't stupid (well some people aren't) so they will see through this practice of marketing and rebel against those trying to swindle individuals into their corporate web. I however think that still won't stop advertisers from trying.

Blogs are a good way to gain insight into how people feel about a certain change or anything other thing that people want to mention. On this same note, some blogs don't require your real name or anything where the person has to take cerditbility for what they say. This could be the main down fall of bloging, as time changes I feel the biggest upgrade to bloging will fix this problem. Later on down the line I think that people will have the ability to blog with videos; also the users probably will be required to add a little more background information before posting their information. Although this isn't where bloging will stop as stated before it is here to stay, these are probably some of the major changes that will happen.

I think it is funny how you predicted the future. This was posted in the beginning of 2006, and now that it is 2009, we have greatly moved in technology. There are video and instant blogging as well as meetings with nothing but TV screens talking to each other. It is crazy to think about what will come next. Holograms? Who knows.
I do know that blogging is here to stay and more people daily become a part of it.

i honestly think that blogging is dumb. i dont think that it'll become anything revolutionary as far as being a means of communication. blogging, to me, is a way for people to vent their frustrations to bored people who have nothing better do than read other peoples rants about whatever. as far as corporate blogging, thats a joke. blogging is just a temporary phase and currently its not even a big thing. i dont feel as though it will be a big thing. so all these predictions, in my opinion, are not going to come true.

While there is always interesting and effective ways to use any new medium of communication, I feel that the blogging allows the market to be flooded with overused ideas. To use the business "Cogs" cliche, if I am thinking of buying a cog do I really care what every other Joe Bloe thinks of his cog?
If the market can determine a way to profile only new material then the blogs will increase; otherwise, I'm buying a life preserver

I feel as if blogging will be an all around marketing tool in the future. Many proffesional athletes are now blogging such as Chad Ochocinco, formally know as Chad Johnson. Furthermore, images, music/songs, can be embedded with blogs, for these reasons and many more, I feel as if blogging will expand both in the coporate world and the average person.
