I recently posted that the GM blog is a hugely successful corporate blog and I made some correlations between the GM blog and what you have listed as the good things that come from blogging. If you look at the GM blog, it encaptures each and every one of these bullets. It seems to me that they are all relatively easy to do too. As long as someone is updating the blog regularly with information that serves purposes to the company, you've got yourself a successful blog!


Gravatar This is definitely a good general overview of what a company can get from a good blog. The benefits really differ for every type of blog though; for example, blogs promoting an industry rather than a product or service (like Adfreak, which is an offshoot of Adweek magazine and deals with advertising) are not going to be concerned with customer service. The other bulletpoints, such as giving your target market information and building credibility, however, are highly relevant and important in this type of situation.
