Can't wait to see the pillow. I've recently fallen for blackwork, but I haven't let myself attempt it yet due to too many projects already in my lap.

I find hand quilting to be so relaxing. I love it so much more than trying to machine quilt.

This is great! When I worked at the Mus ée acadien in my village of Pubnico, the older ladies would come to "piquer" every Thursday afternoon. I loved watching them . . . "watching" being the operative word. They would have NEVER allowed me to join in -- only quilters with dozens of years experience were invited!

i can't wait to see it finished. i love the way you write about the stitches connecting you to your female ancestors- that's beautiful. and definitely an excellent reason to keep sewing.
