Power to ya! Good luck! I'm hard pressed to produce 500 words in a day and I need a coupla days off to recuperate after doing that, so nanowrimo ain't *my* thing; but I hope you enjoy it. Both of our daughters are doing it. Chloe has done it a couple of times in the past and MJ has done it once before.
Wow kelly. That's so cool! At first I thought 2000 words a day would be easy but I've come to the realization that about 1000 is where I'm nice and comfy. I really have to push myself to go beyond that. And that's just what I'm about to do now! 
I have followed your blog for quite a while. We have homeschooled for 11 years and have been inspired to fully support our daughter to unschool her last 3 years of 'school'. She is doing her second stint with NaNoWriMO as she is working on getting her 4th novel published, but I cannot believe the goals set to write so much every day. Good going you!
Good on you - was tempted, but thought maybe that was stretching things just a bit toooo far on top of two house moves.

I did NaNoWriMo in 2007. It was the most grueling month of my life, and I sobbed like a baby when I wrote the 50,000th word just hours before the deadline. One of my proudest accomplishments. Good luck!
But then I would need to have something interesting to say every day, JJ!! It's so much pressure!
Besides, I think I need a new angle. Being a new unschooler doesn't work now that I'm not new anymore. I need to come up with some kind of new focus. Maybe I could blog about getting my house in order (I'm cleaning out my office right now, while listening to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and plotting songs for a mix CD I'm making for a friend who just left her husband). Hmm...plenty of material but probably not very interesting...

I know someone who isn't writing a novel but is using this challenge as motivation to at least get beck to writing on her previously hot blog every day this month.
