As I was reading, I was thinking of the two years Dave spent in Victoria while he was working on his master's. We had to learn to be a split family, but I was the one who stayed, which doesn't really give me a balanced insight on what it's like to be a split family. It worked for us, but there were times I really wanted it over...Having said that, it was an interesting experience and one that made us more appreciative of the partnership.
