Of the 55% who do belive in God I wonder how many of those are Muslim?
Christiantiy is practicaly dead in England, thanks to Henry VIII, the original cafeteria Catholic. The Anglican Church persisted to spend the greater part of the 20th century removing its own spine, I doubt the Church of England will exit in 100 years.

Muslims = 1.3 billion people;
X-ians = around 2 billion people;
other monothehic religions = ?;
other relitions, multipule gods = ?.
If the 50% out of the UK holds world-wide then some 3 & 1/4 billion humans believe in a supreme being. Just Moslems and X-ians make up nearly 2/3 of that

Sorry -- hit the wrong key and posted before I made my point; which is.... with only 2 religions, of several thousands, accounting for some 3.3 billion people I'm pretty sure that all the hand-wringing over the death of God is pretty premature. I think that you would be very hard-pressed to find more than a handful of people - world wide - who do not believe in God.
