Gravatar I'm actually responding to your blog dated March 8, 2007. I have searched and searched for the other side's point of view (Nifong's team) regardng his persecution. I only see and hear crucifiction in the media. I have a few questions. Is the Durham population out of that much proportion of white voters vs. black voters for Mr. Nifong to risk his livelihood? In other words, was his real and only motive to bury the Duke players to win votes? Was Mr. Nifong so stupid to lie and cover up thinking that he would get away with it in the midst of an election he is involved in, knowing that with any campaign process, opposing parties will always turn over every stone to expose damaging credibility? Why haven't we heard from the girl again? Something stinks here and I don't think it's Mr. Nifong. He may have went about his prosecution case the wrong way and should have been wiser before making certain public statements, but the allegations and the strong vengence against doesn't seem warranted. I think these 3 young men and their families are making this white man pay for humiliation and taking a stand against what may have been morally wrong done to a black person. I wonder if the prosecutor was black, would it have gone this far (possible criminal action and civil suits). You know that Durham is notoriously divided by racism. Those rich white folks are not going to tolerate another one of themselves taking a stand for a black person and not pay for it. I think that he should be disbarred for breaking ethic rules but anything beyond that is personal. The boys are back in school, being paid back their legal fees and have lost nothing. Mr. Nifong has lost his job, his ability to practice law in his state and possibly his entire life, save his family and God if he has God. And if he has God, may his faith be his hope.
