I wonder if it is time to let the Richard Abanes stuff die. I wonder if this controversy is distracting us who have dealt with the guy from other issues. I was considering writing a post stating that a lot of people are defending him because they don't want to oppose Rick Warren, and these people are using a double standard because Warren is Southern Baptist and not charismatic or Pentecostal. Were Warren Pentecostal and doing the exact same thing, a lot of his defenders would call him what he is. But since he is Southern Baptist, then people clam up. That seems to be the real problem that the Richard Abanes Ken Silva saga has unearthed.
