What a beautiful sewing machine! Good luck getting what you need to get it working. Your antique chair cracks me up. I think of antiques as coming from, oh, some 50 years earlier than that! Stuff from the 50's is just a tad retro for me, rather than antique! Nice chair though. Have you learned to rewire the lamp? It is insanely easy. Get a book from the library if you don't know how, and you'll see how you can do it yourself for about $10 or less (versus ~$100 to send it in to somebody). Love the hair! (mine is usually even shorter, so I'm all about the ease of it).

Congratulations on your new-antique sewing machine! I hope it is up and running very soon. I can relate to the pukey cat...we have some bathroom issues with ours which prevent our replacing the carpets with something new. Too bad I can't make carpet slipcovers.
